Holiday Favorites at the Bohm Theatre!

Albion, Michigan, November 16, 2017 – Beginning this Thanksgiving, come see your favorite holiday classic films at the Bohm Theatre. Each classic will be shown on Friday mornings at 10:00 AM and again the following Saturday morning at 11:00 AM. Admission for these matinees are offered at our reduced classic price of $3.

The Bohm Theatre will also participate in the upcoming Albion Aglow Parade and Downtown Open House on December 1st. We will be open during this event from 5:00 – 9:00 PM with holiday treats and good spirit. With holiday shopping just around the corner, our Bohm Theatre gift cards and memberships make great gifts! November 24th & 25th – Planes, Trains and Automobiles
In New York the marketing executive Neal Page wants to travel home to Chicago for Thanksgiving. He has difficulties getting a taxi and his flight is cancelled. He meets in the airport the clumsy and talkative shower curtain ring salesman Del Griffith who has taken his cab and they travel side-by-side to Chicago. However the bad weather shuts down O’Hare Airport and they land at Wichita, Kansas. They both want to go to Chicago and they decide to travel together. Along their journey Neal changes his viewpoint about Del Griffith and his own behavior. (1987, 1hr 33min)

December 1st & 2nd – A Christmas Story
Christmas is approaching and 9 year-old Ralphie wants only one thing: a Red Ryder Range 200 Shot BB gun. When he mentions it at the dinner table, his mother’s immediate reaction is that he’ll put his eye out. He then decides on a perfect theme for his teacher but her reaction is like his. He fantasizes about what it would be like to be Red Ryder and catch the bad guys. When the big day arrives he gets lots of present under the tree including a lovely gift from his aunt that his mother just adores. But what about the BB gun? (1983, 1hr 34min)

December 8th & 9th – Miracle on 34th Street
When Doris Walker frantically recruits a last minute replacement for a drunken Santa for Macy’s Christmas parade, he seems ideal for the job and perhaps for good reason – he says his name is Kris Kringle and that he’s the real Santa Claus. When Kris has a run-in with the Department store’s psychological tester, the man tries to have him committed leading to a court case. More important to Kris throughout all of this is to get Doris and her daughter Susan to believe in him. (1959, 1hr)

December 15th & 16th – Elf
Buddy was a baby in an orphanage who stowed away in Santa’s sack and ended up at the North Pole. Later, as an adult human who happened to be raised by elves, Santa allows him to go to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs. Hobbs, on Santa’s naughty list for being a heartless jerk, had no idea that Buddy was even born. Buddy, meanwhile, experiences the delights of New York City (and human culture) as only an elf can. When Walter’s relationship with Buddy interferes with his job, he is forced to reevaluate his priorities. (2003, 1hr 37min)

December 22nd & 23rd – White Christmas
This Christmas classic follows Bob Wallace and Phil Davis after they leave the Army at the end of WWII as they team up to become a top song-and-dance act. Davis plays matchmaker and introduces Wallace to a pair of beautiful sisters (Betty and Judy) who also have a song-and-dance act. When Betty and Judy travel to a Vermont lodge to perform a Christmas show, Wallace and Davis follow, only to find their former commander, General Waverly, as the lodge owner. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue as the performers try to help the General. (1954, 2hrs)

December 29th & 30th – It’s A Wonderful Life
George Bailey never got a chance to fulfill his life’s ambitions of exploring the world and building skyscrapers. As he watches his friends and family become success stories he dreads on running his fathers building and loan business, rivaling the grumpy old Mr. Potter. When a financial discrepancy puts George in a difficult position, an angel comes to show him what life would have been like if he had never been born. (1946, 2hr 10min)
