DESCRIPTION:Chelsea House Orchestra\nAugust 1 @7:00 PM\n\n\n\nMusically\, CHO (Chelsea House Orchestra) provides a varied and colorful performance repertoire with the majority of the music derived from traditional Celtic sources. However\, other folk music sources are used to provide students with an eclectic musical experience. The basic philosophy of the arrangements is to allow everyone in the group to enjoy Celtic music as much as possible. Consequently\, the majority of the playing is melody based with very little inner harmony or separate part writing. This truly provides students a contrasting experience from their normal school orchestra. All music is memorized and arrangements often evolve from rehearsals and suggestions from students. Individuals are showcased through the use of solos\, duos\, and special features. I’ve seen the movie quite a few times\,” Aikins\nremarked\, “but never on the big screen\, I can’t wait!”\nThe Wizard of Oz 85th Anniversary Celebration includes a costume contest under the\ntheatre’s original marquis beginning at 6:15 pm\, with a grand prize of a hot air balloon\nride for two being provided by Reflections Hot Air Balloon Team. Other prizes include a\npuzzle and game package worth $100 and an Albion\, Michigan prize valued at $50. “We\nencourage people to come dressed as their favorite character\, we can’t wait to see\nDorothy\, Glinda\, Scarecrow\, and even the Flying Monkeys represented.” Wizard of Oz\ncharacter cut outs will be located at several locations in downtown Albion for fun photo\nopportunities before the screening.
