Support the Bohm through our Patronicity Campaign!
The Friends of the Bohm Theatre Board of Directors is pleased to announce a new crowdfunding campaign through Michigan-based crowdfunding platform Patronicity for the expansion of the Bohm Theatre. This campaign will support the project to expand and add an intimate 41- seat screening room to facilitate film arts education and discussion. Funds generated from this campaign will support the Bohm’s ability to increase operations by adding an additional screen resulting in expanded programming which will increase our capacity to reduce our debt.
If the campaign reaches its crowdfunding goal of $50,000 by November 30th, the project will win a matching grant with funds made possible by MSHDA and MEDC’s Public Spaces Community Places program. This program is a collaborative effort by the MEDC, MSHDA, the Michigan Municipal League, and Patronicity where local residents can use crowdfunding to be part of the development of strategic projects in their communicates and be backed with a matching grant from MEDC. Film as dream, film as music. No art passes our conscience in a way film does and goes directly to our feelings, deep down in the dark rooms of our souls. – Ingmar Bergman
